What’s going on at the shows within the Province

The Group's first event of the year starts with the Balmoral Show - www.balmoralshow.co.uk - the largest agricultural show in Ireland (North & South). Our main activity here is putting on    a  display (of animals!) and being on hand to speak to the visiting public about the animals on display and what the Trust of all about.

After Balmoral we have smaller (but by no means less important) agricultural shows at which our members enter show classes and the Group itself is on-hand with our merchandising trailer.

Show & Sale 2006

Our annual Show & Sale took place in the grounds of the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum,Cultra Co.Down (www.uftm.org.uk) on the 19th to 20th August. This is the largest show of it's kind in Ireland dedicated to rare, minority and re-established breeds of farm animals.

One of our highlights of last year's Show & Sale was the Irish Moiled cattle classes and auction. Many of the animals (including this one - left) were supplied by the Springfield herd of Libby Clarke from Armagh.

This year's event was again very successful one with people attending from all over the British Isles.

The results for this year can be found here. For those of you wanting a brief insight here's a selection of photos from this year's event.....
